Which is really mean of them.
He's worked very hard to be able to appear out in the woods, what with the pain, the surgery, and the PT. Considering it's his clutch knee that's messed up, the fact that he's cruising out there in his standard transmission car should really be taken into account. Then the hiking through the woods to find a convenient place for the deer to meet him...
Well, I think their behavior is just downright rude.

I'll mention it to any deer that run across the road in front of my car. Maybe they will mosey on over to Vermont...
Actually, the clutch is probably good PT for his knee. It would be nice to have something to show for it, though.
(Eek!!! no no! No clutch!! Too hard to control - which may be o.k. when there is no traffic. Be very careful!! ... /scary times those were.)
But dear, deer aren't terribly polite at any time as far as I can tell.
(Also - thanks for the reminder to check the hunting sched chez moi -- before the weekend.)
Years ago I fractured my left foot and had a clutch car so couldn't drive. After that I always purchased an automatic transmission. Hope all is well soon for you.
I agree about the rudeness. I hope your deer don't influence MY deer. :D Good luck to the Madman! We start on Saturday. Yay for tree time. :D
