Gwennie Inspired Medallions

Today's the day for the first link up for the Gwennie Inspired Medallion QAL, so I'll post my photos again.

Me being the Queen of Dither and all, there's an applique:

and a pieced version:

I don't know if this increases or decreases my chances of actually finishing a quilt in this quilt-along...

Linking to Humble Quilts for the party.  Come see all the fabulous baskets!

I dithered around long enough to not finish anything. ...yet. I really like your applique block. Any block with plaid fabric is a favorite of mine!

Your appliqué basket is wonderful! Kudos to you! I suspect you'll go with this one -- just a hunch. I'm sharing mine on the blog tomorrow.

The applique block is my favorite of the two. Love the plaid basket fabric.

Love both but the appliqué is my favourite. Have fun with the next round!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who tried this and then tried that. Both versions are bright and lovely!

Based on comments so far I'd say you need to keep working with the applique block! It's my personal favorite of your pair too. Given the theme for the next round I wouldn't be surprised to see silly monkeys jumping around your basket. ;- )

Both blocks are beautiful. I am serious thinking on doing 2 quilts. You are inspiring. Hugs

LOL! I love them both!

A Tisket, a Tasket...no green and yellow basket?

(I'm impressed with your applique skills. You must keep those hidden most of the time).

That is a fabulous appliqued block, great colors, I love them both!

Impressive! I love both. I think you will go with the appliqué one. The other one is easier to make a few more to add to any quilt. The appliqué - not so easy. Either way, they will both make a gorgeous quilt. Put us all to shame and finish both of them. Go Gayle, Go Gayle, Goooooo Gayle!! lol. ;^)

Your not the mother of Dither - that's my title.:-) My block is still basted, but hopefully I'll get to post a photo later today or tomorrow.

I really love both of your versions !!
Do you want to make 2 quilts ?

I hope you do make two quilts, because both of your baskets are wonderful.

Yes, both baskets are truly pretty. Wow, doing 2 quilts. I will be lucky to complete one, lol :)

I love them both. I had a tough time deciding whether to piece or applique, Applique usually wins with me.

Love the applique. You always start one & then you make 2 . Great.

I love both of these! I really like the pieced block. If I had thought of filling my basket that way, I would have avoided the A word! LOL

I love both of your blocks, but it looks like the applique one is winning all the "votes".

I have two basket blocks too, because I can't make up my mind. Is that dithering??

I love both of your baskets! But favor the applique one, I love to do applique. After seeing everyone's baskets I am thinking of trying another one. I am not sure if I quite captured Gwen's style.

Sue said...

I should have said in my earlier comment, that I love your applique block. :-)

Dither, as in indecisive? That's me, too. Except my indecision often prevents any progress at all! Your applique block looks big and bold and beautiful -- at least the prints give me that impression. What size is it? Did you hand applique? What size is the pieced block? Looking forward to see what you do next with both blocks, Gayle.
