I have 43.
If you have 43 blocks, you have officially started a quilt. Especially if there are parts already cut for more blocks.
Maybe I'll even make two monkey quilts. That'll show 'em.
It's very clearly marked, and best of all, the 1" markings run along the edges of the ruler, with the half inch down the center. Which makes measuring 1.5" segments a piece of cake, whether cutting 1.5" squares
or 1.5" segments for Silly Monkeys.
Since I've many many times cut with one end of the fabric aligned with the 1.5" line and the other end aligned with the 1.25" line, any help I can get is gratefully welcomed!
(This ruler was a mere $5 at the Hummingbird Highway booth. Later, I saw the same ruler imprinted with a different shop name in that shop's booth, priced at $6.99. I'm glad I bought the first one!)

You are going to LOVE that little ruler. I have one and it just never seems to be out of my hand. And congrats of starting a Monkey quilt - you've got a great start.
I see no monkeys in those quilt blocks. What am I missing?

If you have told us the size of the monkey block, I've forgotten. So 43 commits one to making a quilt, eh? I'll remember that and always stop at 42. :-)
That little ruler looks very handy! I'll have to look for one. I really like your monkey blocks - perfect for a scrappy quilt!

Your Silly Monkey blocks are delightful, but I didn't know that I'm not REALLY making a quilt until I finish 43 blocks. :-( This is very depressing news for me, considering I have been slaving away on my paper pieced pineapple log cabin blocks for months now and I have only finished 15 of them. Never mind that I only need 36 of these monster blocks to make a California King -- can't we work on a percentage system instead? How big are your monkey blocks?
I love those little baby churn dash/monkey wrench blocks. They are such fun!
I made a bunch a while ago but I don't like the layout and will probably "unstitch" and rearrange them.

Only 43? Every time I see your Little Monkeys I feel like making another Little Monkey quilt. I enjoy being in my left brain once in a while!
I love the block, and the scrappy look. I'll have to check the quilt shows I go to and see if anyone made up that ruler. What a great idea to have the half-inch in the middle!
