The merry month of May

Mid-month edition...  (Seriously, how did it get to the middle already?)

I made great strides with my Cake Stands for the RSC.  I was scrumbling around in my reds when I had a vague memory of cutting some red blocks ahead, back when I was cutting pieces for my Sand Castles 2.  A quick shuffle through my pile of foam plates (thanks, Julie!) revealed the fact that I had cut at least eight backgrounds and set them aside.  These got matched up with solids and whooshed together -

and I've got two more in ready position by the machine.

Two Antique Tiles were next,

and then a PSP20-21 appeared.

Even some Glitter blocks dressed themselves in red.

Then, since I was so close to having all those glittery bits together, I really buckled down and sewed -

and sewed -

and sewed, until finally, FINALLY, the last Glitter block was done!

Now comes the big assembly, before I can put them back in a plastic bin and forget them for a year or two.  (I know myself too well.  My brain gets carried away with that whole "there, that's done" bit...)

I'm sewing them into pairs and tacking them to the design wall.

Here's where I left off today.

These are not in any kind of final arrangement - I'm just throwing them up there as I go.  You know me - I'll be dithering for a ridiculous amount of time when it comes down to the end.

Or maybe I should just go for random.  Random sounds really good, doesn't it?

Hmmm...  random...

Linking with SoScrappy for ScrapHappy Saturday and with Quilting is more fun than Housework for Oh Scrap.  Come enjoy all the rosy fun!

You made fabulous progress on your projects. Kudos to you for getting all the glitter blocks done. They look so wonderful all together on the wall. What are we talking about here; double-size bed? queen-size? Double king? ;^)

I saw your post said May and I thought...oh, and old post...because I thought it was June already. I’ll be right eventually. And congrats on the amazing progress...I am quite curious to see glitter come together.

Oh how nice to see what you have been up to. I think those Cake Stands are outstanding. They seem to get cuter and cuter and I keep getting tempted but don't have a lot of solids. Someday...

Oh, random glitter for sure! Randomizing always works for me. Well, sometimes not so well as others but it's faster than dithering and rearranging and dithering and rearranging and...

I think your glitter blocks look amazing just the way they are up on the wall now. So a random vote from me :)

Thanks for linking up with oh Scrap!

Maybe if you went random and skipped the dithering step, your brain would have room for another, different step. Like basting the quilt sandwich? I find once I have the whole package basted together, it takes up so much room that just getting it quilted and off the landscape is pretty motivating :)

Oh, such beauty! I vote for random glitter, too. (Are you machine-piecing them?)

Woohoo - more cake stands! And wow, you've finished all the Glitter blocks? That's another woohoo! Random is looking good so far!

Maybe it's the Spring season, but your red blocks look delicious to me -- raspberry and strawberry and rhubarb pie is on my mind, just looking at them! I love your Glitter blocks, too. Have you thought about staggering the rows rather than lining them up point to point? Not only would it simplify assembly not to have to match those points, but it might make them seem to "sparkle" even more like glitter. Have fun with the random or the "fake random" (that's what I do -- I try to make it LOOK random when really I've agonized over the layout for days). All of your projects look wonderful.

How nice to have your glitter blocks sewn and what fun it will be to sew the top. I always love your cake stands.
