(And y'all can bear witness that I managed to clear off my cutting mat this week. This might be the first time I've seen the full surface of that thing since the day I laid it on the table.)
I've got one of those three done already -
so I can check aqua off the list. Light green and light blue to go!
I forgot to post this last time - I made another Jacks 'n Sixes block to add to the mountain.
Hopefully at some point I'll be able to stop myself from making more of these...
And in the category of why-no-I'm-not-starting-another-project, I offer you this -
which came about purely because I fell madly/deeply in love with this block when I saw it at Klein Meisje quilts. (Though Lynn is making hers at 8" and mine are 6", only because I'm happier making that size block.)
I figured this would be a great RSC2021 block, so of course I made a sample. I'm absolutely NOT starting another quilt. A sample, I tell ya! ONE block is not a project. No, really. I mean it this time.

That Cake Stand in PINK is a great project NOT to start, Gayle!! :o))
Of course you didn't start any new projects! But if you did feel like starting a new project I'll bet some Cake Stands in solids and prints would be a great idea.
Every time you show Jacks I think that would be a good block for some crumbs when I get back around to using up crumbs. Remind me later when I ask what block I wanted to use for crumbs, will you?
Do you have any idea how many PSP20 blocks you will be making?
I love the cake stand block that Lynn shared - and I really like your idea of a print background with a solid basket. Hmmm - I swore I wasn't going to add anything to my project list but this is so seriously tempting.
Wow, you’re certainly doing a lot of baking! You’re using a layer cake to make the postage stamp block, so obviously you need a cake stand. And now that Cathy is talking about crumbs, it must be time for more cakes and more cake stands. So no worries. With all this baking, you won’t have time to start a new quilr project.
Loving that postage block-..Beautiful hugs from afar Julierose
I saw your cakestand and immediately went to my sewing room and made a basket block out of some leftover HSTs. Even though it's not the same block, there was some power of suggestion going on there, I'm sure of it! :) I love those postage stamp blocks, too!
Congratulations on clearing the cutting mat. Believe me, I know how HARD that is! Love the aqua block but my heart beats for that Jack. ♥
Cake Stand! So cute! That's a good one as I am sure 2020 will take the cake as the worst year ever! But I hear ya and I don't blame ya. I too am planning for 2021 because I am SOOOoooo done with 2020!!
;^)
Hmm. One cakestand is a sample, but is it representative of a RSC quilt? I suggest you make another (perhaps orange?) to see if you truly enjoy it... A78mandel at yahoo dot com
1.5 inch squares.... so you're just clinically insane right? That can be the only answer.
You need to join in the Moda Blockhead quilt along... you'd love making the blocks in the 4 inch version (I'm doing them in 12)
The 'cake stand' block is a favourite of mine, love your first trial one!
The Lady doth protest too much, methinks? LOL. The cake stand is adorable!!
Okay, I think we all know there is a Cake Stand quilt in your future--lol! Cute block!
Fabulous blocks, lots of fun! What's better than that?
You've probably already discovered this, but Cake Stand (or Basket) blocks can be addictive. Ask me how I know. ;-) For that matter, postage stamps are pretty addictive too... You're not starting a new project, you're just building up the inventory in your own personal Parts Department!
I am glad the cakestand block is only a sample. Seeing those on a regular basis would be too tempting.
Thanks for linking up with Oh Scrap!
A sample, really? Whatever you say, ma'am... But I LOVE that 6" block and how you used the print in the background, solid for the "meat and potatoes" parts of the block. I would love to see a whole quilt like that. I hereby give you permission, in my official capacity as NewFO Enabler, if you want to make this a new project!
What Rebecca Grace said. Go for a new project... or at least dream about it for a while. I like the little basket especially using the print for the background.
It is such fun to see what we can make from our stash right now. With so much sewing, how could we ever need to go outside. Lovely projects.
So glad you have the willpower to resist starting another project, like the rest of us! Hahahaha! Your PSP20 blocks look gorgeous!
Right, you are just SQUIRRELING AWAY an idea for Next Year! (we'll see....)
As usual plenty going on at your place Gayle! all lovely projects but I'm hooked on the little cake stand block although I think if I made them I wouldn't be brave enough to to go with 6"!
Oh, your basket block is delightful. I'm looking forward to seeing more (because I know, even though this is a "why-no-I'm-not-starting-another-project" we'll see more).
