The hard(est) part is done

This week I took my Frolic mystery from this:

to this:

to this:

Ta-da!  The center part is done, including squaring, trimming, and stay-stitching the edges.  On to the borders!

Now that I've got the tricky parts done, I can do the borders at my leisure.  I'll be making HSTs in both purple and orange for a while, which will be a perfect leader/ender as I push forward some other projects that have been on hold while I frolicked mysteriously along.

And I got two more doodads done for the RSC.

Is it just me or are they getting brighter?

Congratulations on getting Frolic together. It looks good! The nice thing about taking a bit longer is that you see all the other border ideas people have had. I have seen a few I like better than what I ended up with (I did it like Bonnie's).

It's very hard to not make bright pieces in the orange mode, at least for me...
Your Frolic is looking beautiful lovely work...hugs, Julierose

I so love your Frolic quilt! Congrats for plowing through the hardest part. (Yes, we are still stuck in snow and plows are basically all we see) What's happening with the Doodads? Are they to be part of Frolic? as a border? Can't wait to see what you have in mind for those. Enjoy! ;^)

Super progress on your Frolic! Doing the borders as leaders/enders is very smart :)

Great progress! Such a wonderful colorway. And I love that your Temperature quilt is photobombing Frolic.

Frolic is looking lovely! You get a gold star (or perhaps an orange one?) for getting it this far!

Congrats on frolic coming along. Its border weekend on mine. Hours of puecing those borders made me wish I had used the hsts as leaders and enders!

Yes, piecing the center of fussy quilts is always cause for celebration. A milestone. Good luck with the rest.

Nice work on frolic. I like your orange and bright looks good to me. I've pretty well decided not to play along with RSC this year. I have too many other projects started and I couldn't find a block I particularly liked. Oh well!
