I think I'm going to have to take up Ringo so I have room to lay out Burgoyne, since I'm giving a higher priority to Burgoyne and I'm not going to be able to make the design floor any bigger...
While I was playing around with the construction of that block I showed yesterday (before it dawned on me why it was kicking my butt), I thought that center area could be interesting all by itself.
Like maybe as a strippy quilt?
Or possibly a sashing or border?
More play is definitely called for.

Looks like you are having a lot of fun in your sewing room. Love, love, love the idea of using that part of the block for sashing. Very interesting. Happy to see Burgoyne getting some attention. Can't wait to see more of that one. Enjoy! ;^)

I love your Burgoyne sashing with the little nine patches! Have fun playing with the new blocks, too - that is always my favorite thing to do!
I was just reading your "about" - sheep to alpaca's huh, you must like farming - it sounds like a nice farm and spinning & knitting - would love to learn
Glad to see you've been able to get back to the sewing studio. I'm so glad we don't have to deal with single digit temperatures over here (or anything below zero!). I remember those days from my childhood. It was fun when I was young but I'll pass now, thank you very much!
You're right, that central bit of the new block would make for an interesting strip quilt. *Especially* if it were done in a rainbow of scraps. What's one more block to make each month after all? ;-)
Okay Ms. Smarty Pants. I just figured out the easy construction of that block given my experience with Ringo Lake. Time to give it another go...

Burgoyne is on my list, and I really like yours. I like your Ringo Lake, but it isn't on my list . LOL

Burgoyne is on my list of quilts to make, but it keeps getting shoved down by bullies like Ringo Lake. Maybe someday. I really like both of the quilts as you are making them, and any progress is good progress. I like the striped setting triangles.

You are changing around the new block already? Yes, that would make a nice strippy quilt or border. It kind of looks like the units in my Down and Dirty gardening UFO - four go around a square. Kind of versatile, huh?
And BS is looking good. I wish I could figure out a backing for mine. I might actually have to buy something but I'm trying to make do at this time. Do you know how you are going to quilt yours or aren't you that far yet? I'm open for ideas but I'm definitely going to quilt it on my DSM and need to do it before summer and the heat.

Funny how we expand to the space available. Perhaps we are fortunate our walls and floors don’t.
