The wonderful kmkat , who cracks me up on a regular basis, decided that I cracked her up as well, so she sent me this book as a reward.Given my general failure at spinning a yarn heavier than sport weight (if I'm not extremely vigilant, I'll end up with laceweight every damn time), this is the perfect book for me. Lots of lovely patterns knit with skinny skinny yarn - yeehaw!
And while I was processing pictures, I saw that Madman had taken pics of the last fish he caught.
It was a very tasty lake trout. (That's a big knife and a huge cutting board, for size comparison.)
And the perfect part? Going fishing is part of his job. Only my Madman could figure out a way to be paid to go fishing...

I don't think I could make a sweater out of lace weight - I'm working on a cardigan in fingering and I think it's going to take me FOREVER!
Let me know how you like the patterns in that book; I seem to only spin fingering or laceweight as well. I'm doing Tangled Yoke right now in fingering weight; 7 stitches to the inch. It's sloooooow going.
That is one good looking fish! I haven't cooked trout in a long time.
I've always wanted that book! I love the idea of knitting garments in fine gauge yarns, even if the actual process takes longer than I'm used to...

Love that book - and the sweaters within but I can't finish a bulky weight sweater. How the H am I ever gonna stay focused for a skinny weight one?
