A few more yellow bits, just under the wire

I'm wrapping up the last of the yellows for February's RSC.   (And I just saw that March is going to be green!  Huzzah!)  (My third favorite color!)  (After orange and purple, of course!)

Cake Stands are a happy block, no matter which color.

And I've got a dandy bunch of chips ready to go.

The chips made a good leader/ender for some more Glitter blocks

and since I found the other bag of blocks that I'd kitted up last year, I guess I'll carry on piecing some more of them.  They're tricky enough that I can only make about three of them before my eye starts to twitch and the swearing starts to get almost too loud, but three by three will continue to add up!

I also try to spend a little time each session just cutting pieces for future projects, like my tumblers for instance.

That bin doesn't look very full until I take a photo from the side -

cutting twenty or so pieces every time I'm handling fabric will eventually start to add up.  When I'm ready to start the quilt, it's going to go pretty fast, even if it ends up as a leader/ender.  (This is the same approach I took for my Triangle Stars - cutting pieces off and on over the course of a year or two, then starting the sewing.  That top really whooshed itself right together!)

I also continue to cut strips for 9-patches for my Jack's Chain, squares and rectangles for Easy Peasy, 4-patches just because I like 4-patches, and triangles for my future Ocean Waves and Tree of Paradise.

And then of course, there are the pieces I cut for quilts I'm not actually starting at all, like Flutterby.

I sure hope my great-great-great-grandchildren like finishing quilts, because I think I have enough starts to keep several generations entertained for years...

Linking with SoScrappy for ScrapHappy Saturday and with Quilting is more fun than Housework for Oh Scrap!  Come see all the pretties!

Cutting for future generations - what a great idea (or way to excuse our behavior in this lifetime). LOL!

I'm making 20 9 patch blocks each month. These are for my Jack's Chain.20 each; pink, yellow & green. So pleased you are refraining from Flutterbye 🤓

I think you are going to have to conduct some serious familial genetic testing because I think “rather start quilts” is dominant over the recessive trait “likes to finish quilts.”

I think three glitter blocks is very good. Three is a great number. :^D You are so organized when it comes to cutting. I am pretty lousy at that job. I cut pieces for a project and put the fabric away. Then I have to pull it out again because I want to work on another project and didn't cut any pieces from that fabric for it. 🙄 You'll have to show me how one day. Enjoy the new colour. Oh so much fun awaits. ;^)

Oh, I like all your block play. Great tip to share - cutting your pieces for the next quilt as you handle fabric. It adds up over time and then makes a quick sew.

It’s a well-known fact that quilts started by human females outnumber finished quilts 4:1. You’re just doing your part to maintain the ratio. Future generations will thank you as they load the quilt top into the Quilt Finisher, press a button and get a quilt spit out at them. But they’ll wonder where the heck all the glitter came from...

Two blog posts on two Saturdays in a row. Heavenly!

I remember you working on Glitter a while back and actually thought you had finished it. This isn't a second one is it, ala Sand Castles? I've tried cutting pieces for future blocks or even making 4 patches and 9 patches, but then I get distracted (didn't you see that squirrel run by?) and months later I find a pile and wonder what I was doing with them. And then there are the fabric pulls that reappear and I've no idea what I pulled them for. I think it's time for some spring cleaning in the studio, but I may wait until spring actually arrives.

Your blocks looks perfect for very interesting and beautiful quilts and Gliter blocks are outstanding. Well done Gayle. Now let's play with green fabrics!

Your future greats will definitely have lots of finishes to share between them, I can imagine the pleasure they would get out of thinking about how you decided on certain patterns and what were you doing at the time you began the projects.

Your cake stands are always delicious. Jack's Chain is on my list, too. And I inherited several tops from my greats. They've been well used and are finally falling apart though.

I really like the black&white and yellow combination. Who knew they would complement each other so well? (Well, obviously, you did.)
