How is it that time is simultaneously flashing by and dragging by? I'll be so glad when this year is behind us.
Most of my sewing time has been going to Sand Castles 2. I've got 11 of the 48 blocks done and up on the design wall.
I did manage to sew a couple of RSC cake stands in yellow,
Given how close we are to the end of the month, that'll probably be the last yellow cake stand until next year. (Though there are no guarantees of that - they're such a lot of fun to plot and sew that it's quite hard to restrain myself...)

Certainly you will be making a fruit cake stand during the holiday season? Also I look forward to seeing several fresh starts...assuming that you aren’t hiding them now.
I see bits of YELLOW in your Sand Castle 2 blocks, Gayle. And, oh, those lovely Cake Stands!!
I had to go back to see your first Sandcastles quilt so I could see that you've changed your string blocks to black and whites, and I love that difference between them! Cakestands are fun in yellow!
Loving the b & w in your 'sandcastles' blocks! And that Kaffe in your latest 'cake stand' block has always been a favourite of mine.
We are living proof of Einstein's relativity theory...draggy days and then all of a sudden it's the weekend again--how does that happen??
Your Sandcastles are just lovely...nice work hugs, Julierose
The latest Cake Stands look quite yummy! Yellow butter cake, right?!
Oh Sand Castle blocks are looking tremendous upon your wall.
Great blocks. The Sand Castles are stunning.
Your cake stand is so happy looking, love the sandcastles blocks. Happy stitching!
Great progress on Sandcastles, a super-scrapbuster!
Oh. My. Sizzling Bacon! B/W and red Sand Castle is FABulous, Gayle! Great colour combo. I'll miss seeing the cake stand for sure. Too cute. ;^)
I love those sandcastles!
Don't tuck those cakestand blocks away too well - you might forget about them come January! I still want to make some blocks of my own. Thanks for sharing them with Oh Scrap!
Oh, lots of goodies! Hooray! It's funny that those two Cakestand blocks side by side look like they are different sizes. Shows how color placement can create optical illusions. I think I'm really going to love those Cakestands when they get together into a quilt. Keep going!
It's a treat to see both of these blocks coming along each month. Keep up the wonderful work.
Your Cake Stand blocks are adorable and those Sandcastles? WOW!! Love them!
Your sand castle blocks are beautiful. Red is one of my favorite colors. What size are the little 4-patches? The cake stand blocks are such fun.
