Done and Dusted - (my new favorite phrase!)

Twinkle Twinkle is done done done!  Woohoo!

Just a few quick photos of it in its new natural habitat -

The last binding stitch was stitched last night, and the quilt was tried on for size.

I'm a bit pleased with it.  😀

I've been working on this quilt for so long, that I couldn't remember when I started it and had to look it up.  My here-we-go-with-a-new-start post was back in October of 2015, so it's been a rather lengthy labor of love.  (Click on the 'Twinkly' tag over there in the sidebar to follow the whole story!)  The original plan was to finish it last year in time for my daughter and son-in-law's 20th anniversary, but I missed by a year.  This was partly due to procrastination (one of my other hobbies!) and a fear of messing up the quilting (and therefore the quilt...)

Ah, well.  Better late than never.  (That would be my motto, if I had a motto.)

The whole time I was handstitching the binding, I kept thinking "I love this quilt so much!"

There's a very grave danger that I might start another one.

Twinkle Twinkle II, coming soon to a quilt blog near you...

Send some of that magic fairy dust to my house! I have lots of quilts that need to be done and dusted. Your quilt is magnificent and looks fabulous in its natural habitat.

Congratulations on a beautiful finish! Why worry that it was started in 2015 - great things take time!

Vey, very nice -- love the "v2 coming soon" angle! (as well as "done and dusted")

That's the perfect name for this quilt, Gayle, because it does sparkle, glow, and twinkle. It is gorgeous! I especially how you used the light blue background to unify and how the sashing helps with the twinkle effect. If I had made this quilt I believe I would have a hard time parting with it.

Looks like this lovely quilt has been hand quilted. Your at-ease attitude is nice to see. and so healthy.

Congratulations! It is DONE!!! I'm surprise to hear you are just "a bit pleased with it", lol. I love it big time. The blue cornerstone stars with the green all over is just perfectly charming. Awesome job! ;^)

A wonderful quilt Gayle! That last little 'hit' of blue on the binding is perfect!

Given its size and complexity, I think you finished it in record time. Now what about those monkeys.

Your quilt is beautiful! Your daughter and son-in-law just be thrilled. I think the 2nd quilt from the same pattern sews up faster than the first one. You know what you are doing now!

Oh my! That is absolutely stunning in its full glory. We have gotten glimpses of ankle that it is almost shocking to see it all at once.

Quilting is not an instant gratification hobby. Some quilts take generations, I have several of those in my linen closet. Love how this turned out!

Congrats on a gorgeous finish! I've got a set of twinkle star blocks that need to be set together and I love your setting. Is it your original design or is it from a pattern?

Fantastic finish! I love the combo of those two blocks together!
