One pig,
plus two ears of corn (and btw, that's actually the same blue background in all three blocks. Sometimes my camera just likes to mess with me...),
plus this absolutely fabulous pig fabric that I found at a quilt shop my sister-in-law introduced me to (my sister-in-law is pretty fabulous herself),
is all going to combine to be a pretty darn nice cushion cover for my dad the pigherd.
Of course, I've got to decide on a layout. You didn't think I was going to make it easy, did you?
Option one:

The cushion will be 18x36, and the blocks at this point are 10x10 (pig) and 5x10 (corn). Option two is less fiddly and shows off the pig background fabric to better advantage, so at this point I'm leaning toward that one. (Sometimes easier is better. This is a strange concept for me to grasp - I'm generally guilty of complicating things as much as possible.)
With all this experimental patchwork going on, not to mention RSC Ohio stars and Silly Monkeys, the leader/ender fourpatches have really started to pile up.
Remember when I said I wasn't going to count them?
I lied.
I couldn't stand it anymore. I had to know. So here they are, in stacks of 25
And a new stack has started. I feel so much better now.
Oh, and there was a monkey.
Because there's always a monkey.

I like option 2. I believe in keeping it simple!
Of course there's always a monkey! And I agree with Cynthia--option 2 is my favorite. I think because the background is already very busy. You are so courageous to attack pig! fabric! lol
As Audrey pointed out the background fabric is busy. Me personally, I think the blue of your blocks clashes with your background fabric. What would happen if you changed the blue to a gray or a beige? Whatever you do I'm sure you will come up with a great solution.
I also like option 2.
I think I have some of that pig fabric. (Of course!... I have a farm UFO and a crazy quilt crazy farm UFO). Now you will have to collect pig and monkey fabric.

Great pig cushion, I prefer the second layout, draws your eye into see the corn and pig. Wow 200 monkeys, that is a whole lot of fun in that box!
2 gets my vote.
I liked option 2 even before I read that you liked it, too.
Option 2 is better. Or you could do an option 3 of putting the pig head in one corner and the ears of corn on the opposite side or one ear on the side and one ear lying under it across the bottom. Lots of options.
