Because look what happened...
I got pickled.
Now I've got some decisions to make. Continue with paper piecing like I did with this pickle?
I'm not wild about the detritus. I'd definitely go back to my usual freezer paper technique.
And I'm not so sure that hand piecing wouldn't be just as fast (or even possibly faster) than machine piecing.
I'm also thinking I might want to go a little bigger...
Since it's pink, I'll be linking with SoScrappy for ScrapHappy Saturday! Come see all the fun! There might be pickles! And squirrels!

You are hopeless! Do monkeys like pickles? The chickens, perhaps? Or maybe the piglets will take care of them.
This brought a smile to my face. I have a quilt my Paternal Great-Grandmother made some time before my mother was born (1926) and it was a pickle dish. It's in really rough shape, I can't decide if I should restore it or what to do with it.
I like pickles but I don't like taking off all that paper . . . what a dilemma!
(....laughing!)
Trying my best to not follow suit. Sharing a photo of all that paper mess gives me strength!
Oh dear, what a dilemma to have! I love pickle dishes, but the paper war that follows is certainly off putting. Maybe one a week could be the answer?
Well, I have to admit it is the time of the year to start pickling but ... really? Pickles! I would have understood if you had said sheep or roosters or calves but pickles? Okay. It does look like a nice pickle though ... I guess you are canned on another quilt, hehe. ;^)
I would go bigger----but I love all pickles--dill, sweet, kosher, paper pieced, etc
You've given me another reason to feel encouraged! ^_-
Pickles are on my list too. Your pickle is lovely! Now you only need about a thousand more! What size is this pickle?
Aha! Caught you in the Pickles!!! Wonderful! And both my Pickle Dish (Adding Layers by Kathy Doughty) and Tobacco Leaf (Modern Quilts, Traditional Inspiration by Denyse Schmidt) quilts I'm working on are pieced and have no yucky paper foundation.
Oh yes, we do all lead each other astray, don't we?! But it's so much fun! I like those little blocks a lot!
Lol! You are in a pickle indeed!
Don't think I didn't notice the orange center...because orange is the new pink.
Oh wow, those are such intricate blocks. Love the colors. I'd say do what works for you if you decide to make any more.
That block looks difficult to say the least / but lovely!
Pickle Dish seems to be the hottest block around. Either way you stitch it those are terrific colours.
Cool pickle block! Yep, Cathy is a bad influence on us all, but where would we be without her? But I will not do pickles. I will not do pickles....I will not do pic.....
That's such a good squirrel too.:)
At first glance I thought the squirrel got swallowed by a shark with those giant teeth. I'm relieved to know he only got pickled.
I like your pickled squirrel!
when I saw a scrappy Pickle Dish quilt, I renamed it "Vicious Circle"
