Today was my day off, which means laundry, errands, cooking, etc. You know the drill - more work than if I was at work.
Grocery shopping was one of the things on the to do list, and I got a wicked good deal. Leg of lamb for less than hamburger. It was even less than the marked-down-for-quick-sale-oops-we-ground-waaaay-too-much hamburger.
It's a lot of lamb for just Madman and me, but I'm already thinking ahead to the leftovers: lamb stew, lamb curry, stuffed grape leaves, real shepherd's pie.
Just don't tell Goldie and the gang...

Woo Hoo!
Uhoh.... well you said you wanted something other than chicken....
Oh i want to shop where you shop! I love lamb and its always so expensive! Curried is my favorite way with lamb--though a nice leg of lamb is always a treat!
Errands and housework are never really finished. Once a task is finished you just have to do it all over again. Shopping has its rewards, however. You scored!!
I love a good score! And leftovers, I love some good leftovers.
I love leftovers so much you'd think I don't actually like to cook.
ToolMan and I ran into quite the deal recently; veal scallopini mismarked at $1 per pound already in trays of 4 each. We scooped up every package we could find and kept going back until they realized the error. By then I had nearly 2 dozen trays of 4 each in the freezer. We'll be having veal parmigan, veal rolladen, veal schnitzel all winter.
Love, love, love lamb.
