In the Pink

The hot pink continues in this hot hot July.  Though I still don't own a lot of pinks, I managed to use what I do have in a few kaleidoscope blocks.

I'm really enjoying Angela's use of an accent color this year - it adds to the fun each month having two colors to play with.  (Though I don't really seem to have a lot of lime greens, either...)
My pinwheels didn't fare as well as the kaleidoscopes, though.  Only one block to show so far.

And one Jacks block.

But of course there's another pig.  Because there'll always be another pig.

This one's name is Splat.  She's artistic, she assures me.

Since I'm unable to restrain myself in the matter of starting new quilts, I thought that making a push to finish some of the already-in-progress quilts might make me feel better.  I'd been making Allietare blocks as occasional leader/ender blocks, and knew I was close to the bottom of the bin of pre-made components for these block.  I pulled out everything and laid them out.  One big push finished the last few blocks and setting triangles left to do, and now I've got everything I need for final assembly.  Some of the blocks (the upper right corner) are already joined and pressed, and now I just have to decide if I want to finish it now, or hide set it aside for later.

In the meantime, the bin that held all the Allietare parts is now empty.  Hurray!

So that means I can start another quilt, right?  What with the empty bin and all...

What, no monkeys? Allietare is looking gorgeous; how could you put it away without finishing it? An empty bin certainly cries out for a new project. ;- )

She is a throwback, a hippie piglet fur sure, very artistic. Aren't you glad that tie dying is the biggest style trend again! The Alltiere is gorgeous, amazing it started with just a few unknown blocks and has become so complex! Congrats on getting it so close to a finish.

Somehow I missed the memo you were working on Allietare. So pretty! And, yes, empty bin needs a new project.

Love those kaleidoscopes! They look like they have the just the perfect amount of green thrown in! Your Allietare is really coming together. Maybe this is the week for a finish!

I'm with you - finishing is virtuous and a great excuse to start something new!

You sure made a lot of pink progress for someone who doesn't own a lot of pink. Everything looks so bright and refreshing.

Kaleidoscope, Pinwheels, Jack, Piglet, Allietare. whoah! someone's been very busy. It might be a good thing you don't have a lot of pink. I can even not imagine all the blocks you would had made if you did have a lot of pinks lol. Personally, if you have Allietare out and ready, I say finish it. You'll be glad when winter comes (you know it will come back) and you're wrapped in Allietare. :^D Now, for that empty bin. what's the use of an empty bin? Nothing! So yeessss, a new project is in order. Fill up that bin! I can help with inspirations if you are running low LOL.
Love the piglet and the kaleidoscope block. ;^)

We need a National Kaleidoscope Quilt Block Day, don't we? As usual, Splat is as adorable as her sisters.

Certainly looks like you were having a very 'pink' day! Love all your projects, especially the kaleidoscope blocks with that little bit of green thrown in!

Another post full of your multiple projects!!! You definitely need to have another project now that you've used all the Allietaire blocks - this is a beauty by the way!

Loving the pink - especially when paired with green!

I've just finished up a small, sneaky quilting project (it was a present, which is why you haven't seen anything on the blog yet) and I've got some pink and green fat quarters that are sitting on my table taunting me.. I think I'm going to have to cut them up soon!
