She had me at orange...

This morning, Bonnie Hunter posted the colors for this year's mystery quilt and it's not a mystery that I'll participate.  The color with the largest fabric requirement is ORANGE, so I am so so so in!
And who couldn't use a bit more Good Fortune?

Of course, that meant that I spent the afternoon madly sewing On Ringo Lake chunks together so I could start Good Fortune with a happy heart.  (And a clear conscience...)

Success!  All those blocks and sashy bits are now assembled!
I still need to put the corner triangles on and since I can never leave well enough alone, I'm going to add a 2" border of scrappy brown strips all around.  And maybe another turquoise border on after that.  Maybe.  (I didn't say I was done dithering, just that I'd gotten the blocks sewn together.  It's my success and I can define it any way I want)

Good Fortune, here I come!

  1. Well, will you look at that!! I believe Good Fortune is already rubbing on you. On Ringo Lake is all put together, except for the borders, but let's not get technical here okay? ORL looks wonderful. Congratulations on bringing it all together so fast. (Nothing like Orange Fabric to kick you in the petunias, lol) Enjoy! ;^)

  3. I'm not getting sucked in this year and I will probably regret it. I just don't need any new UFOs. ORL may become a table runner.

  4. Hooray! For getting Ringo Lake to this stage, and for the new mystery!

Even though there is plenty of time, today I've gone through my stash pulling Good Fortune colours to see what I have. I knew I had plenty of orange, but I surprised myself how much of the other colours I had. No fabric shopping for me.

  5. I definitely thought of you first when I saw Bonnie's Good Fortune colors. And I'm so glad you're joining in. I am very curious to see what we will be doing that takes so much fabric to make a 72 inch square quilt!

  9. On Ringo Lake looks great! I was thinking I would pass on this year's mystery, but since it's going to be a smaller size.........

  12. LOL. Isn't that one of the great things about quilting: we can choose for ourselves how we define finished, or success, or pleasing? I really like your use of colors in this quilt. They are beautiful together.

  13. I got all my On RINGO Lake blocks done this weekend. I can't start the next mystery until it's finished. Are you sticking with the same colours.
