Every time I count these blocks, there seem to be fewer - so I'm going to stop

Counting them that is.

My math said there should be 101 there, but when I counted them I only came up with 100.  So I counted them again just to be sure and that time I got 99.  I'm going to quit counting while I'm ahead.  Or at least before I get any further behind.  I'll keep working on them, since I still need about another kabillion for Good Fortune's first clue.

And as a plus, my red bin is getting refilled since I'm cutting strips in several sizes, as long as I've got fabric spread out on the cutting table.

And I'm even cutting for clue #2 - the blue HSTs.

Oh, and these other triangles, too.

Not that I'm starting a new project.

Because I'm totally not doing that.

I'm also not auditioning background fabrics.

Absolutely not.  No new projects here.

Just Good Fortune.  Totally concentrating on Good Fortune.

Absolutely.

Linking with Cynthia at Quilting is more fun than Housework for Oh Scrap!, because I've got scraps as far as the eye can see around here...
Also linking to Bonnie's Quiltville for the Monday Good Fortune linkup!  I'm going to continue to sew my bits for clue#1 and clue#2, and hopefully get further along before clue#3 comes out on Friday.  (Already looking forward to it!)

  1. I don't blame you for not counting any longer!! How funny that you come up with less after each time!! I don't see any new projects happening...but if I did, I like the blue background!

  2. Which is why I'm going to use Bonnie's colors and do something with far fewer parts that need to be counted!

  3. I had the same problem with On Ringo Lake. The numbers kept going backwards! Glad to know it wasn't my counting skills but just a feature of Bonnie's quilts. Love the scrappy star you aren't making.

  4. Not doing, yeah, right ... I think you said the same thing to me last year when I said I wasn't doing ORL!

  5. New projects? I don't see any new projects!

  6. I think those 4 patches are sticking together, and one day you'll have twice as many as you need! And as far that new project you're not starting - that's what happens when you start cutting up scraps!

  7. I'm glad to know I'm not the only person who has trouble counting. I really like that blackground blue on the quilt you're not starting. It will be a lovely quilt if you ever do start sewing it.

  8. You know what they say: one step forward, two steps backward. Those 4 patch surely have heard that before, haha! I am surprised that you are not starting a new project; after all it is a new month. AND you did finish two quilts. Oh well! Maybe in 2019 you will be in the mood to start something new ... and blue. Blahaha!

  9. Ha ha, you're right, no new project ;)) This "not new project" looks great too!

  10. The new project you are not starting looks really good! As far as the counting, I bundle little blocks into batches of 10 and put a safety pin through the pile so I can count batches as I go along when I do big projects like this. It helps with the mis-counting multiple times. Keep up the good work!

  11. December is the Month to start thinking about the next year. So that means you can start the projects to work on in 2019. I think that is a quilting rule :)

Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!

  12. what a giggle. I do like the new project is there a new pattern - not that I would get distracted either.

  15. That counting issue might explain how I made extra of the week 2 units, but when I finished them and counted again I had exactly the right number. Considering I made them in sets of 8, and the number I ended up with isn't divisible by 8, there is definitely something weird about numbers and Bonnie's mysteries!

  16. Ha ha! I read this out loud to my DH and we both laughed :) He said you should average the numbers, but the average will keep going down, too. So stopping is the right answer.

  17. Well you did say when you finished the last two quilts that you could now start 4 more, so what are the other 2 going to be? I'd put 25 units in a baggy so it would be easier to recount, if you felt the need to recount, of course.

  18. I think it's a good thing you stopped counting those little four patches--lol! Glad to see you are steadfast in your dedication to Good Fortune and not begin anything new--something I can relate to, for sure!

  19. And I thought you already didn't start that new project!

  20. Triangles are fun. At least two of your sets belong to the same quilt.

  21. Forget everything and only work on your new project "Totally Not Doing That." I'm hooked and want to binge watch.

  22. You've got some fun scrappy stuff going on in your sewing room. I try to put my blocks into groups of ten as I finish them. Much easier to count that way.
