Logging loonily away

I've been chugging along with my little log squirrels cabins, accumulating a nice bunch of them.

Since I'm just making log cabin blocks for the heck of it, without a clear plan, it's unclear how many I'm going to need.

Of course, since I had bits left over -

I might as well keep going.

And I did.  I've got thirty done so far.

(Or rather, I've got 29 and 11/13ths blocks done.  If you look really carefully at the one in the upper right corner, you'll see that the last two dark pieces are missing.

Gonna have to cut a few more bits.  Or a lot more bits.  It's still a toss-up...

Since I don't have a plan, how will I know when I'm done?

Linking with Julie's Log Cabin Loonies!  Come see all the fun!

  1. Well, even without a plan, these little log cabins are certainly very tempting! And you are making great progress.

When you have an apple box of them as an inheritance for whichever of your children who gets all your quilting stuff after you are gone. My grandmother's were bear paw blocks, mother's were gingham 9-patches. Mine? I haven't found a block I like so well I just keep making them.

  5. I would be in trouble if I had to have a plan when I started sewing blocks. The fun part is figuring out how to use the blocks once they fill up the bin.

    Love the blocks!

  6. Lovely cabins--and I like your Furrows setting a lot...I had cut many more than 20 centers and now I think I'm going to play catch- up and make more--talk about addicting!! Such fun hugs, Julierose

  7. You've got a great start on something bright and fun even if there is no final plan as yet.

  8. What a wonderful community of little log cabins! Fun to make even when one does not know what one will do with them all! Or how big, or for whom! That's my kind of quilt making!

  9. LOL your never done with log cabins, because you can always add more logs or make more blocks! So they are gift that keeps giving to those of us who love to use our scraps. Happy quilting!

  10. So far so good. You sure whipped those up. You will be finished when you run out of scraps or the next squirrel comes along.

  11. You are so honest. You had to tell us that one block was missing some stripes even if none of us would had spotted that. You are cute! And so are your blocks. If you are having fun making these blocks and your stash can supply your addiction, why stop? Maybe I didn't understood the question. What was the question again? Oh never mind and just make some more. ;^)
