Some happy orange sewing happened this week.
A couple of Jacks,
and a couple of buckeyes.
These were all excellent leader/enders for the sunflower ring that magically appeared on my sewing table.
This is Sunflower block #3, with my traditional center-dither.
A bit of Kaffe?
Maybe a batik?
Maybe a less muddy batik?
Then I tried this old print.
Oh my, yes! Though it's possible something else might come along that I like better, I can't even imagine it.
And I even started pulling fabric for Sunflower #4.
Anyone surprised that there's more orange?
Linking with SoScrappy for ScrapHappy Saturday. Come see all the orange fun!
Love all those orange prints - they're so fun! That sunflower block is really stunning, too. Looks like the next one will be the best one yet!
ReplyDeleteI love the orange prints, likewise the possibilities of the batiks as sunflower centers. Finally splurged and got the book, templates ordered, and looking forward to trying my hand at some sunflower blocks. I love seeing what you and Cathy have been creating!
ReplyDeleteLove your Jacks especially the fabric in the first one. Your last option for the middle of the sunflower is just perfect in my book. It deserves an A+. The fabric you picked for the next sunflower, why does it have 4 fabrics? Have you already picked the center fabric too? Kudos!! ;^)
ReplyDeleteP.S. Nope, you did surprise me with more oranges. I love it big time. :^D
Your sunflowers are so fun! Love the center for your last one. Hope you have lots of time for stitching this weekend.
ReplyDeleteLove those jacks blocks! They look so happy.
ReplyDeleteI'll have you know a buckeye block has shown up on my cutting table. I think I'm safe from squirrelflowers though... :-)
ReplyDeleteHoly smokes. That first Jack block woke me up! Now I might just have to move along and start sewing.
ReplyDeleteHmm... More ORANGE??? Nope!! Not surprised, at all.
ReplyDeleteLove love love your sunflower blocks! And the Kaffe centres all look ok to me, look forward to seeing what you end up using! Does it take you long to make each block, and are you machine or hand piecing them?
ReplyDeleteOh my, your sunflowers are gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteI love how you combine wild and lovely fabrics! Always a feast for the eyes!
ReplyDeleteLove your squirrelflowers (good one Magpie Sue), er I mean sunflowers. So tempting but I really need to finish up (many) other squirrels (and chipmunks) first.
ReplyDeletePat
Oh, that's a great center print! The little squares sort of shimmer and dance. And the scale is similar to the seeds in a sunflower head. Perfect!
ReplyDeleteLoving your Jack's and buckeyes 👌💖
ReplyDeleteI love the color contrast of the blue with the dots for the center!
ReplyDeleteI so admire these sunflower blocks. Some of your photos didn't show up on this post but I was able to see them all in feedly. Just too fun!
ReplyDeleteYou made some super blocks this week. The sunflower is amazing.
ReplyDeleteYou are so easily influenced! Second Kaffe would be my second choice if you are still dithering.
