The end of the week just flat out snuck up on me, and I've got precious little purple to show for this week's Rainbow Scrap Challenge linkup. On the days I could whip up enough enthusiasm to go out in the heat and head down to the studio, I tended to focus on the projects I'm most trying to move forward.
There were log cabins for Log Cabin Lunacy at JulieK's.
There's a little purple here and there, but not much.
And I was playing with lots of color for another project -
(You can probably guess what project...) Not much purple turning up there, either.
Even the monkeys weren't flashing much purple, and they're usually happy to oblige with any color I want. Or don't want. They're not picky.
My daughter sent me this the other day -
That explains a lot...
Linking with So Scrappy for ScrapHappy Saturday, Oh Scrap at Quilting is More Fun than Housework, and Log Cabin Lunacy at JulieK Quilts.
Come share the fun!
Those stars must have some purple in there, with enough colors for three or four, rainbows. So much fun. We had a first day of fall weather today, hooray!
ReplyDeleteYour log cabins and stars are beautifully scrappy, purple or not!
ReplyDeleteI only have some purple in my stash due to my SIL who LOVES purple - but I still avoid it. Love the stars. I don't mind the heat as long as it's not humid. I know winter is around the corner, so I am not going to complain.
ReplyDeleteOh I do love your stars Gayle!
ReplyDeleteAnother batch of great blocks. We love to see your progress so thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!
ReplyDeleteLittle logs, mixed up Mavericks, mini Monkeys... they are ALL sporting a bit of PURPLE!! Using a little bit of the Color of the Month still qualifies... because you are USING your scraps. That's the whole point of the RSC!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat could be better than a visit to your blog, Gayle!! I love all your scrappy goodness!! Thank you for linking to Log Cabin Loonies!
ReplyDeleteLovely work, even if purple is scarce. Love the stars!
ReplyDeleteLots of lovely scraps being transformed into logs and stars despite the heat.
ReplyDeleteThose stars for your Gwennie Inspiration are fantastic. Watching you make one is 10000 times better than making one. Keep up the good work so I don't have to.
ReplyDeleteLOL yes about that heat.
ReplyDeleteLove those pretty stars! :)
Beautiful! I've got some fat quarters winging their way to me through the mail. I've got some baby blankets to make! Can't wait.
ReplyDeleteWe got a break in the weather today - right now I have all the windows and doors open and I'm actually baking! I hope it makes it your way too.
Hi! Your log cabins and stars inspire me a lot! Beautiful colours! x Teje
ReplyDeleteIt has finally cooled down a little here, thank goodness! Speaking of goodness...what a lot of scrappy goodness you have going on there. I fear too much has been going on here and I won't finish my stars for Gwennies...looks like you are going to have some fabulous starry borders.
ReplyDeleteLove your scrappy stars! Are they going to be for a 'morning star' quilt or your Gwennie medallion?
ReplyDeleteLove all your fun blocks--I suspect we are going to see lots of Maverick Stars on September 1st!
ReplyDeleteLots of pretty scrappy blocks even without the purple.
ReplyDeletesuch fun to see your cute Log Cabin blocks, I love them! But the Gwennie stars are awesome, yes, I hate that word, but they are!
ReplyDeleteThe hobbits are throwing rings around here too :) It has been a very hot summer for me!
ReplyDeleteLove the scrappy log cabins!
I quite like that log cabin in the first photo -- nice!
ReplyDeleteLots of fun projects going on with you.
