I don't know if you've noticed yet or not, but the Quilty 365 button has appeared in my sidebar.
Because I started on New Year's Eve.
Well, for some definitions of started. No actual applique has been done yet, but a shape decision was made (fat orange peels!) and a template drawn up, and I picked fabrics two days in a row.
(Notice how neatly I'm killing two birds with one stone - I'd been wanting to do an orange peel quilt, and I'd been wanting to join Quilty 365. All about the efficiency, me.)
So let's see how long I can keep this up.
So far, so good.
Linking to Audrey's January linkup, even though my progress is pretty pitiful. Come see what the real people have done so far!
A start is a start is a start, you're on your way and your "elongated circles" are going to look great.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun orange peel shape. Ive just finished one, but it wasn't nearly as cute and fat. Two days down, just a few more to go!
ReplyDeleteNot THIS year!!! I would like to do the Quilty 365 thing, but I've got enough on my plate for 2016. I wish you TONS of stitching FUN!!
ReplyDeleteI am joining in the fun too. Lots of circles will be in my future!
ReplyDeleteYou are brilliant. I have orange peels going for Rainbow Scrap Challenge and it'll be forever until I am done / I should have thought of this ha ha ! :)
ReplyDeleteNothing like killing two birds with one stone, Gayle! This is going to be a fun year with overflowing scrap bins and circular, or ellipsed in your case, creativity!
ReplyDeleteMuy original con tus cáscaras de naranja.
ReplyDeletePerfect! I love it when two projects merge into one so seamlessly (no pun intended!). Audrey
ReplyDeleteSmart thinking that, chunky peels!
ReplyDeleteA great idea lol
Oh, off to a good start I see with the two birds, one stone thing! I love seeing all the Quilty 365 interpretations!
ReplyDeleteTwo minds that think alike! I also am choosing to make orange peels this year for quilty 365. An orange peel quilt has been on my bucket list, so this was serendipity.
ReplyDeleteLooks like I had missed this post. Glad I found it and got to see this new project. As Kathy would say: Are you suffering from the "Startitis" my friend? You have the unbearable urge to "start" new projects? lol. It looks like sooooo much fun but I have to resist, have to resist! Too many projects, too little time. AAAAaaahhhh! :^{
ReplyDeleteEnjoy and I will enjoy yours, with you. ;^)
I love the orange peel idea. Hmmm, I think you have inspired a new project for me in 2017!
ReplyDeleteYou are brilliant. I had the same idea, but I haven't started, so you are also awesome. I am going to try to start this weekend.
ReplyDeleteYah! Welcome to the 365 family! Lucky for me, a circle quilt was in my plans already, but then ahead so is an orange peel quilt!
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be great. I just finished an orange peel....and loved it.
