Around and around and around (and around)

Once again, I seem to be involved in a project that I'm not actually starting.  Truly not starting this quilt.  I've just been reading Marti Michell's blog, since I love her rulers and she does fun tutorials, and generally just minding my own business.

She's been doing a QAL of Jen Kingwell's pattern "Long Time Gone."  Being a big fan of Jen Kingwell's work (you should see how many bookmarks I've got in my copy of "Quilt Lovely"), I've been watching avidly as cute little block after cute little block has been built over there.

Because there's no harm in looking, right?

Next thing I knew, I had cut a whole bunch of 1" strips and these little pineapples were starting to appear.

It's amazing how many times you can go around and around, and still not have a bunch of finished blocks.
Though I've finally gotten a couple done.  (Thirty-seven itty bitty pieces in each block.  Thirty-seven.)

And making rafts of flying geese is no problem, since I've been making them anyway.  (I had a bunch of triangles left over from En Provence that are perfect for geese.)

And how could I possibly resist these little 3" churn dashes?

I only need two more, but I think I might have a hard time stopping.  They're quick to make and absolutely adorable - in other words, completely addictive!

So far, I'm just playing with some of the blocks for this QAL, not really making the full-tilt "Long Time Gone".  More like a "Be Back Soon", actually.  Just making a few blocks.  Seriously.

Since I've had 1" strips on hand lately, it was too easy to fall into the Temecula   Marvelous Monday Minis.  Here are last week's block and two of this week's.

I still need two more to get completely caught up, but since I made two extra blocks for the first week, I could technically call it even...

Linking with Oh, Scrap - because Scrappy could be my middle name!  Come see all the fun!

Yeah, I know. I'm NOT making LTG, either. Trying to decide where not to start...

I like Marti and her rulers, too. BUT, I definately have blinders on to LTG.

Go Gayle! I really liked those pineapple blocks too but I was able to resist. So I will really enjoy seeing your progress. Thanks for linking up with Oh Scrap!

Just think: You are doing all of us a favor by knowing they are so cute and we can look but not touch. So thank you for all those teenie strips and blocks that I can enjoy vicariously, and they sure are ALMOST irresistibly cute.

Oh my goodness, I love all those little blocks! I have two Jen Kingwell patterns, although have not yet actually worked on one, but they do call to me periodically! The scrappy goodness in yours is wonderful - have fun with them! I'm all caught up on my Temecula blocks, too - last week's were a LOT easier. :)

I want to make a pineapple quilt someday but you're not not luring me into this one. They are cute though. Enjoy your stitching!

Your LTG blocks are so fun and colorful--there's a lot of piecing going on! I finally succumbed to the Temecula SAL too--don't tell anyone--lol!

Oh my goodness! Those pineapples are way too cute! Good thing you're really not involved in all this QAL'ing!

Funny - but if you are having fun, then enjoy!

Such sweet little blocks! And I guess, yep, you are hooked in to LTG now, and we will all love following your progress!

All of your blocks are adorable. I love your cheerful fabric mixes. As for your pineapple log cabin blocks with 37 pieces -- I am currently making a King sized pineapple log cabin quilt with 17 3/4" blocks that have 97 pieces in each block. Yes, NINETY-SEVEN. Because I'm a crazy person, apparently... You can see them here: http://cheekycognoscenti.blogspot.com/2017/04/what-happens-in-florida-doesnt-stay-in.html

Lol Isn't it amazing how easy it is to get caught up in the 'not starting anything new' thing! It's like reverse psychology 'cuz it almost always works in the opposite! Those pineapple blocks are wonderful!!

You are the most productive non-quilt-maker I've ever met.

I bought that pattern ages ago and was all set to make it but I baulked at the size of the blocks, also I'm still working on her Gypsy Wife.
However, I love the fabrics you're using and looking forward to seeing more as you go along.

No, I think Scrappy is your first name and Tiny your middle name. But Tiny Scrappy Gayle makes more sense. 3" churn dashes? Seriously?! At least you're having fun. And they *are* darn cute. ;-)
