I was so good that I got stars and glitter

I've been putting off straightening my sewing table as long as I could, but I was at the point where the working area on my cutting mat was smaller than a sheet of paper.  Even I had to admit it was time to do a little organizing.

See that clump of jumbled strips on the upper right of that photo?  That's what's left to do.  I didn't think to use my camera before I started, but picture that mass over a foot deep and covering my entire cutting table.   Most of it is cleared - now I just pull out a strip or two and put it away every time I go near my rotary cutter, and eventually it'll be done.  At least, it'll be done for a brief moment before I start messing it up again.

So, to celebrate, I tackled a little sewing with a clear(er) conscience.  Some centennial stars got laid out

and sewed together.

And there was a bit of glitter.

Because what's a celebration without glitter?

Lovely fabrics in the stars. Glitter - Jen Kingwell is coming here to New Zealand in October for the National Quilt Symposium, one of her teaching days is devoted to Glitter!

Your stars are beautiful.

Making headway with red at last? Cleaning is good for the soul, or so I'm told ...

Serving up some yummy stuff, I see. No monkeys were hiding under the piles? Maybe they are in the piles.

Working a bit at a time is sometimes much better than a full on onslaught (which can be exhausting). Fun pieces you are working on!

I have a big pile of scraps to deal with also--just thinking about it makes me tired--lol! I love those red stars--very pretty!

Me too! My cutting station is still (mostly) covered with bits and pieces of FQs. Did you know that the great masters like Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Botticelli, Rembrandt, etc had someone to clean the brushes and studio when they painted? They had to leave to master to his work. I want one of those, please. Meanwhile, I'll clean up ... tomorrow. Love those glitter blocks. ;^)

I always know it is time to tidy up when I realize I know longer have a surface to cut on. Love you blocks!

Loving your 'glitter' blocks! I try to have a serious tidy at the end of each WiP and put fabric away in its right basket, but it doesn't always happen!

It's so easy to let it pile up. Congrats on two very pretty sets of blocks. You definitely deserved a little glitter.

Nice rewards! One can never have too many stars or too much glitter!

You are doing great with the glitter blocks. I made a sample one - may do some more at some later point, since it is so beautiful.
