It's not all pumpkins around here

I have managed to get a little non-pumpkin sewing done, too, this week.

A few more Centennial blocks -

joined the first one that I made last week.

I'm definitely putting these at the top of my list for RSC2017.  They're really supposed to be made with only two colors, but I'm using three.  Because why would I stop at just two?

And I finally found the pieces that I'd cut out for two Chantal's Pinwheels blocks - they'd gotten pushed aside and buried during the height of the pumpkin frenzy - so I got those put together.

That's a block that will get carried over into 2017, as well as several others.  I enjoy making them, they look lovely in rainbow colors, and I don't have enough to do anything with satisfy my heart.

One block that I'm NOT planning to carry over is my piglets, since I have more than enough to make the quilt I had in mind.  But, honestly?  These little cuties are such fun that I don't know if I'll ever be able to stop.

Sally T might have to rescue me by inventing another block that's as irresistible as her piglets.  (She's got some bunnies...)

I've also been continuing with my Sea of Tranquility blocks.

Only about a gabillion of those to go!  Woohoo!

And look who came inside now that the weather has started to cool off -

I'd been hearing them playing out in the yard, and the neighborhood squirrels were starting to develop nervous tics, so I knew they were around.

Take a good close look at this little fellow, because he's kind of special.

A couple of days ago, Bonnie Hunter announced the name and colors of this year's Mystery Quilt.  I've been on the fence about doing another one - I loved playing along last year for the first time, but it's a big commitment, and I wasn't sure I'd be up for it again.
So, yeah, dither dither.
The color palette she's picked is lovely - purple, lavender, grassy green, bright yellow, and magenta for an accent - but it's a little on the perky side for me.
But PURPLE.  I love purple.  And orange, of course.
So.
That little monkey up there is what I've decided to do with Bonnie's En Provence.   I'm substituting blues for the greens, toning down the bright yellows to gold, and using a nice tangerine as the accent color.
Apparently I'm in.
Though only for making a half-size quilt.
Truly.
Probably.
Yep.  Definitely just a small one.
Yep.

So glad to see some monkeys... I was so worried they got lost and couldn't find their way home!

Still a lot of projects on the go for you - good idea to carry a couple over until next year.
I'm going to love following your mystery quilt with Bonnie, and the colour choices you've made sound great.

The pinwheels are very pretty! Looking forward to the big piggie reveal! I think it's a great idea to be able to carry some of these over into next year. I've never joined in a mystery QAL, will be watching your adventures from the sidelines!

Lots of great block play going on at your house. I had thought about doing BH mystery, but I have too much on my plate now. I will save the instructions and maybe later.

The Centennial is a very nice carryover, especially in three colors. I'm going to do En Provence because I just love the colors. I've been collecting fabrics for it from my stash. I've no idea how it works, just saw others doing it last year. I will so the half size, definitely. Smaller quilts are better, but not minis.

Sheesh, when did you sneak in those Centennial blocks? I must have been out of the loop for awhile. I was wondering if you were going to do another Bonnie mystery. Now I know. Can't wait to see what you do with the piglets.

All of these blocks are gorgeous...except the pig. The pig is just super cute :)

Glad you're planning to carry over the Centennial Blocks; they are definitely worthy of a full quilt. And fun to see monkeys again, too! I'm skipping the mystery this year but will print all the directions so I can make it later if I like it. That said, I reserve the right to change my mind .... I can dither with the best!

All your blocks look great! I'm still undecided about doing Bonnie's mystery quilt. I have tons of fabric. So I'm not worried about that. I just have so many projects on the go right now.

Love that Hawaiian piglet! Good luck with your Bonnie Mystery Quilt!

Done harvesting pumpkins already? That was quick. Hope the harvest was good. :^D
I was wondering what happened to the pinwheels. Glad to see them in ORANGE!
Love the Centennial block and although I haven't seen it with two colour, I love the three colours. Sometimes, more is best. Was that a Hawaiian piglet that I saw? It is a cutie. If the monkeys are coming in, it must mean that Winter is heading our way. Happy to see them again too. Enjoy the BH Mystery (small? big?) quilt. ;^)

I really like the color combo that you've chosen for Bonnie's Mystery! I'm on the fence about my color choices. Hoping to take a tour through the stash this week to see what makes sense for me.

Your blocks are looking good. Can't believe you've already made your decisions about next year's RSC (please tell me that Angela is continuing the tradition!!) I need to see what's ready to be transformed into quilt tops first.

I really like those Centennial blocks! They look like they would be fun to fussy cut something for the centers. I will enjoy seeing how the Bonnie Hunter mystery works, having never done anything like that before. Your colors will be beautiful for it!

The pigs? Are going away? Say it ain't so!

I had sworn off Bonnie mysteries, but this year's pallet is (mostly) my favorite colors so I have lots to work with. I also want to start Chantal's pinwheels. I fell off the agon for RSC16 for the most of the year, but want to get back at it. Angela hasn't been posting much, so I hope she isn't too busy to carry on. Maybe you should take over. :)

I had to give up the piggies also and have found it really hard to not pick back up. I have refrained from Bonnie's QALs but I really love to see the finished quilts. I will enjoy seeing yours come together. Thanks for sharing all your great blocks with Oh Scrap!

I'm loving those pigs and sort of hoping you keep making them! Lots of lovely scrappiness here to enjoy. Thanks for linking up to #scraptastictuesday!

Lots of fun blocks up on your design wall. Looks like you'll have lots of fun with next year's scrap challenge. I love your piggy blocks and will miss those next year. Looking forward to seeing a whole quilt of them. That will be fun. I'm going to do Bonnie's mystery, but only the half size. Not sure of the color palette yet. I've been doing some standing in the fabric closet looking at what's there that should come out.

Have you ever read any of the Terry Pratchett Discworld books? In this case your comment regarding the monkey block put me in mind of the Nac Mac Feegles from the _Wee Free Men_ novel. Your plans for the mystery quilt sound lovely.

Similar feelings here about En Provence. I have done 3 Bonnie Hunter quilts so far, but this year it will need to be half size. I' ve even decided to go non- scrappy - only a week to go.
