It's too hot to brain today...

When the temperature has already risen past 90F before 8:30am, as has too often been the case lately, I usually declare it a Happier Not Knowing day  and refuse to look at the thermometer again.
It's definitely another Happier Not Knowing day...
So here's what little output I've managed this week, in between bouts of sweating, staring off into space, and drinking prodigious amounts of iced tea -

One piglet in misty purple.  More or less.

One Jacks block in the same batik, with the same neutral.

And one Buckeye Beauty, once again in the same fabrics.

Because when it's too hot to think, finding that batik that was mostly gray and purple (and with a nice swathe of turquoise for fun) was enough of a win (and an effort) for me to quit while I was ahead.

I'm linking with So Scrappy for ScrapHappy Saturday.  Let's go see what all the scrappy rainbow folk are up to this week!  (I'll be along as soon as I fix myself another bucket of iced tea...)

Another piglet for the win!! So cute and clever. Like you, I found a limited amount of the colors for this month, but sometimes digging deep is good! Have a great week.

Keeping that Piglet out of the heat is a good idea. Of course, he needs a babysitter to make sure he's not getting into trouble. You just HAD to stay inside with him!!

Your gray and purple batik is definitely a win! Perfect for August! Sending you cool wishes for the coming week!

Oh, it was hot so early this morning. I went to a quilt show and will tackle bindings once it cools (?) down.

Love the different blocks in the same fabric.

Y'all have my sympathy. We are in hibernation mode here in Phoenix. 8 months of gorgeous weather and 4 months of hiding from the heat.

Sweating like your cute little piglet here :)

My smart-ass middle son recently posted on FB "Sure it's hot, but at least it's humid" :)

I totally agree! When just sitting and breathing makes me sweat, I really make an effort not to sweat the small stuff! Your blocks are wonderful! ;^)

I have a hard time feeling sorry when we've had about 50 days in a row over 90 (with 90% humidity). Just sayin' ... But I do feel your pain. At least in the South we have AC most everywhere. Hope you cool down soon.

Molten lava piggy...how appropriate! I did stop complaining about the heat (out loud) when I found out about the crazy scary amount of rain they are getting in Baton Rouge.

i love these fabrics - but don't envy you the heat you're having over there, or at least in parts of the USA. I think you did pretty well to get three blocks made!

The heat this summer has been epic, that's for sure. Luckily this morning is a bit fresher out, which is good since we're hosting an outdoor event.

Your piglet looks like she sort of flowed together in the heat, a nice blending. The batik really saved the day. You could feel cool just looking at it. Have a fun week!

I love how we are both blaming the heat. LOL Love your blocks but that pig block...OMG! I need a few of these. :)

Some fun sewing here despite the heat!

Hint from someone who lives where it is that hot for weeks (or months) at a time -- ice water can actually make you feel a bit cooler than ice tea (I learned the hard way that ice tea was causing headaches on TOP of the heat misery). Hoping for cooler days for you very soon!
