One good orange deserves another

The other day, when I was cutting 1.5" and 2.5" strips from my orange fat quarters (thereby turning them into scraps and thus perfectly legit for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge and that's my story), I also cut 2" and 3.5" strips for some pinwheels.
After constructing all the HSTs for these blocks, though, I had to do an emergency consult on previous blogposts to make sure I had my pinwheels facing the right direction.

Whew!  Got it right the first time!

And then, since I luckily had all those scraps right at hand, I figured I might as well make a piglet.

Or two.

And then after a brief (ish) stop at Capitol Quilts - totally because my daughter needed some fusible interfacing and a fat quarter of a nice red to finish a project and I went along as an advisor, and for no other reasons, and I'm sure it's just a coincidence that she came out of the store with stuff for a whole new project (like mother, like daughter, right?) and I had a stack of fat quarters that will fit with a couple of projects of my own (one of them not even new!) -  I used my brand new first ever Kaffe FQs to make a couple more little porkers.

(I have a feeling these won't be the last Kaffe Fassetts I ever buy...)

And here are the six piggies I've made so far this month.   I expect a few more will turn up when I get back to my stash (going home Sunday), as well as some bitty boats and a star block or two.

Oh, and kaleidoscopes.  There will definitely be some kaleidoscopes.  I can hear that ruler calling me from hundreds of miles away...

Linking with So Scrappy for ScrapHappy Saturday.  I'm looking forward to buckets and buckets of orange!

Uh oh. If you were in Gaithersburg, your piglets are getting awfully close to mine. Better keep a close eye on them.

Wonderful KF piggies this week, proves you can make anything with his fabrics! Lovely orange kaleidoscopes too, they are a beautiful shade of orange.

Even more piglets, I just gasp. Super cute, and especially the Kaffe piglets. We definitely have to have a brainstorming to find out what to do with these littel sweeties.

Your piglets are sooooo adorable. They look like fun to make. I am thinking I need to find your piglet pattern and make a couple. Keep on inspiring me.

Love the part about where your "sdraps" come from, because mine appear that same way! I won't tell anyone, if you won't! The orange piglets are perfect, so fun and colorful.

Love, love, love your piglets. We know what piggies 1-4 did, and the fifth piggie went "wee, wee, wee" all the way home. So what did the 6th piggie do? Apparently s/he rounded up the others for a fantastic group shot!

You had great progress with your orange fabrics. Look at all those piglets together, they are fun and cute. Have a great weekend!

Now you are really sunk, with those first two Kaffe piglets. Your life will never be the same again. I can always make room for an orphan or three if you are desperate for piglet housing.

Your pigs have become a herd by now ! :)

So I guess Kaffe helped you bring home the bacon?! (love the piglets!)

Quite the pigpen you've got there! I love the first floral one. And your pinwheels are lovely too.

Gah - those pin wheels are making me itch to get cutting. I FINALLY got a cutting mat last week. But now my cutting table (aka Grandma's table) is completely covered in seedlings. They won't be moving for at least three weeks, so it will have to wait.

Maybe someone else has already said it, but it looks like your first Kaffe piglet has a tattoo on his flank (or perhaps you're branding your pigs?)!

I need to make some scraps... ;- )

Oh, those pigs keep getting more mouth watering every time I look! I have to admit they look scrumptious in orange.
